Sacraments for School Children

Year 2024 parish program for the Sacraments

Parents please note that sessions will be held on
Wednesday nights.

First Holy Communion Year 3

Applications to enrol your child in the First Eucharist program will be available from Father Simon the Parent Information Night on the 1st May.  

  • Parent Information Night will be held on WEDNESDAY the 1st May at 7.30pm at the St Therese School Learning Centre you will receive a registration form, which should be completed and returned at the presentation Mass.
    Please DO NOT BRING your children with you.

  • Presentation Mass:  Candidate with parent(s) should attend the Vigil Mass on Saturday 4th May at 6pm or Sunday Mass on 5th May at 8am or 10am Masses.  Kindly bring the completed registration form and place it in the designated area.

  • Parent & Candidate Sessions of Instruction:  Will be held on WEDNESDAY’S the 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th May at the St Therese School Learning Centre at 7pm.
    All FOUR sessions are COMPULSORY and should run for approximately 60 minutes.  

  • Rehearsal for First Holy Communion will be held at the St Therese Church at 3pm on Saturday the 1st June for candidates & their parent(s).

Celebration of the Sacrament of FIRST HOLY COMMUNION:

Sunday 2nd June 2024 at 10 am Mass

at St Therese Church, Denistone.

Please note:

  • If you are new to the St Therese Parish, please attach a copy of your child’s Baptism. Ensure that all attachments to your application are included.

  • Late enrolments for the program will NOT be accepted and will have to wait till 2025.

  • There is no fee for the sacrament, however, we appreciate and rely on your donations to support the ongoing work of our parish.

Confirmation Year 6

Applications to enrol your child in the Confirmation program will be available from Father Simon at the Parent Information Night on the 24th July.

  • Parent Information Night will be held on WEDNESDAY the 24th July at 7.30pm at the St. Therese School Learning Centre you will receive a registration form, which should be completed and returned at the presentation Mass.
    Please DO NOT BRING your children with you.

  • Presentation Mass: Candidate with parent(s) should attend the Vigil Mass on Saturday 27th July at 6pm or Sunday Mass on 28th July at 8am or 10am Masses. Kindly bring the completed registration form and place it in the designated area.

  • Parent & Candidate Sessions of Instruction:  Will be held on WEDNESDAY’S the 31st July, 7th, 14th and 21st August at the St Therese School Learning Centre at 7pm. 
    All FOUR sessions are COMPULSORY and should run for approximately 60 minutes.  

  • Rehearsal for Confirmation with Bishop will be held at the St Therese Church at 3pm on Saturday the 24th August for candidates & their parent(s).

 Celebration of the Sacrament of CONFIRMATION:

Sunday 25th August 2024 at 10am Mass
at St Therese Church, Denistone.

Applications to enrol your child in the First Reconciliation program will be available from Father Simon at the Parent Information Night on the 23rd October.

  • Parent Information Night will be held on WEDNESDAY the 23rd October at 7.30pm at the St. Therese School Learning Centre you will receive a registration form, which should be completed and returned at the presentation Mass. 
    Please DO NOT BRING your children with you.

  • Presentation Mass:  Candidate with parent(s) should attend the Vigil Mass on Saturday 26th October at 6pm or Sunday Mass on 27th October at 8am or 10am Masses. Kindly bring the completed registration form and place it in the designated area.

  • Parent & Children Sessions of Instruction:  Will be held on WEDNESDAYS the 30th October, 6th, 13th and 20th November at the St Therese School Learning Centre at 7pm.  
    All FOUR sessions are COMPULSORY and should run for approximately 60 minutes.

Day of FIRST CONFESSION: 

Friday 22nd November 2024 from 7pm

at the St Therese Church, Denistone.
